First Ride of the Season 2016

Hey B2R fans, another year has arrived and finally, here in Montreal, we had a magnificent day for riding.

This morning I was a little nervous taking out my bike for the first time. It always reminds of all my previous years of starting  new season and reminiscing on all memories from the past. This year nothing too special, just a beautiful ride along Boulevard and came back in about half an hour.

The bike was flawless, nothing to worry about it seems good to go. Riding brought a great big smile as I was cruising on the streets. I was getting a lot of thumbs up and many smiles from onlookers.

More to come, as this year is quite special… I’ll tell you more later.

…Update…

Enjoy Daniel’s first Ride of the year! BTW he sold his bike. Now he wants to buy another one! LOL

Fall Ride 2011 Update 1

Hi B2R fans,

finally a ride has been planned (short notice) to go with a couple of friends who just got their motorcycle license. We’re meeting tomorrow morning around 9:30 and I’m thinking of riding around the border line. I’ll keep you posted.

Dressing warm, not taking any chances; double pants, warm socks, neck warm, gloves. Will also bring a wind shield for my helmet in case the wind istoo cold in the morning.

So excited, cannot wait for tomorrow.

We met a 9:30, we were four all together. And I was going to be the leader.I hope I still remembered all the safety lessons when riding four or more.

After meeting at DIX30, we headed out to La Prairie and slowly rode towards Hemmingford region. Nothing to complicated as I got off Bataille Street off 104 and headed south. I must admit the terrain has changed much since the beginning of the year. The leaves are turning, yellow, orange and red stunning views as the trees around …. (more to come)

We took the scenic route.

Harley Ride La Baie Sep 2011

Hey B2R fans,

currently on vacation and I couldn’t resist taking pictures on my lastest ride. Saguenay region is just beautiful and I had a chance to go for a short ride. Heading slowly back in the parc, riding this new Harley was great. I must admit, it was a big motorcycle, but I got used to it real fast. Have to treat the corners carefully and other than that, it went pretty well.

Here are my pics.

Enjoy Nick.

Summer Rides Month of July

Hi B2R fans, in the past month I have been riding my bike everyday. I was able to enjoy this time since my work place allows me to commute by bike.
I’m always taking the scenic routes, rarely take the highway, riding a slow and cruising speeds to work. I must admit, these small rides are pretty fun.

I’ve noticed the streets are pretty badly maintained and I take caution riding on them. I pretty much know by heart all the cracks and holes on my commute now.

Since the weekend is arriving fast, I’m gonna plan a nice morning trip towards Chateauguay and head on south from there.
Ok B2R fans see you on the country side roads !

First Ride of 2011

Hi B2R fans,
After the long winter we’ve had in Montreal, today we witnessed the first sunny skies. All conditions were a go. So I the morning I played with my sons in the park and then I headed out for my first adventures.

A week ago I check my bike if it was in good shape, checked the oil battery and gas. It was good to go . Only went out for half an hour just to ensure that the bike was ready to go. So this morning, I headed out to the south shore. Took Champlain bridge and first destination, my friends place. He didn’t feel to but I was able to do some riding on my own. Took the usual road avoid major highways and enjoyed every second of it.

The wind was not took cold which suprised me. This pushed me to go a little further. But I kept it simple not too far down a La Prairie and some other sectors.I rode for about 1 full hour then headed back home.
Well that’s it. Today’s short ride was brought to you by B2R.
Would you like to contribute? Send me some mails. I need to know how many people would be interested in posting their own stories on my site. The more the better!

First Fall Ride 2010 Ontario

Hey Born2Ride fans,
We are planning our first fall ride and it’s a big one. Were heading out to Ontario for a ride in a national park. Oups, we did not reach the national park. But we still had a blast.
The Good Time
Ontario

Here is a nice map of what we have done in the past 2 days.
I have to admit that Ontario was a pretty nice ride. The roads were nicely paved,a little cold but all in all it went well. We did not plan our hotel stay since we were not sure where we would end up. So we ended up a the Chimo Hotel in Ottawa. Not bad. Waitress could have been nicer, but everything else was ok.
One notable stop was at the Damn called Barrage de Carillon. Nice and relaxing we spent some time there taking pictures and enjoying the view.
Ok i’m tired I goto bed …. Continue tomorrow. BORN2RIDE

Here below is useful information …. So I leave it there…
And not just any park the Algonquin Park. It’s one of the oldest park founded in Canada (thanks wiki) back in 1893. I heard that riding in the fall period is a memorable ride. So I just had to try it once.

Were not sure about anything, since we have not planned this ride. But I know it’s will be a fun ride.
Keep you posted.
Stay tuned. Born2Ride.
